Our team

Neil Backes, President

Prior to founding Backes Consulting & Technology, Neil held executive and management positions at Backes Crocker, LLC, BMC Software and Compaq Computer Corp. As managing partner at Backes Crocker, LLC, Neil headed sales and business consulting practice areas for all clients. As a director at BMC Software, Neil managed lines of business and operations areas. Neil held a variety of technical management positions while with Compaq Computer Corporation. Throughout his career, Neil has provided value in the software development and operations areas. Neil regularly donates time and services to a variety of local non-profit organizations and is active in the Houston community. In 2001, Neil founded Alpha Rho Scholarship Corporation, a 501(c)(3) organization that that provides academic scholarships at the university level. Neil earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from West Virginia University. He is available for speaking engagements upon request.
